A decadent dessert that combines rich chocolate cake, crunchy pecans, and creamy swirls of cream cheese for a delightful treat.

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 package (18.25 ounces) German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. Sprinkle the chopped pecans and shredded coconut evenly across the bottom of the pan.
  4. In a large bowl, follow the instructions on your German chocolate cake mix, adding 1 1/2 cups of water, then pour the batter over the pecans and coconut.
  5. Beat the softened cream cheese with melted butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the batter and gently swirl it through.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool slightly before slicing.
