A classic dessert featuring layers of vanilla cake, rich pastry cream, and luscious chocolate ganache, perfect for celebrating life’s sweetest moments.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  4. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  5. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
  6. Mix in the flour mixture, alternating with the milk.
  7. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool the cakes in the pans for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Layer one cake with pastry cream, then place the second cake on top.
  11. Pour the chocolate ganache over the top, allowing it to drizzle down the sides.
