Delicious and easy-to-make Apple Pie Bars that combine the flavors of a classic apple pie in a convenient bar form.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt.
  3. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Press half of this crumb mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  5. In another bowl, mix the sliced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, sugar, and cornstarch.
  6. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the apples.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce for a delightful treat. These bars can be stored at room temperature for up to 4 days or refrigerated for a week.
